Have you ever seen one of those annoying videos were a bunch of guys think they're being smart and funny for imitating a first person shooter? Yeah. This is one of those videos. We filmed this last summer on the same day we made The End of Earth. I didn't think there was anything I could do with the footage at the time so I threw it on my hard drive thinking I'd probably never finish it, but all it took was for me to be very bored one year later.
The first ever announcement of the newest H&R project. After months of nothing, a new film is finally underway. An Action Comedy spoof expected to be produced this summer, and hopefully released this fall. The project is still in pre-production, but as it's getting closer to the production stage, I felt like making a little teaser to get the buzz going.
BTW, most of the footage belongs to other companies, and I don't claim rights to it, and blah blah blah whatever.
If I actually get sued for this. Well. It wouldn't be the craziest thing to ever happen.
Prepare for an adventure unlike anything you've ever seen before! Join Ryan, Zach, Kyle, Joe, Corey, and Taylor as they venture out into the treacherous hills of Reider Pit Washington. On their many travels they come seeking fun and excitement, but little do they know that they are on a crash course for disaster. Once intended to be a fun little way to spend the weekend, turns into a nightmarish battle for freedom. Stranded alone with nothing but their shovels and their wits, they begin a desperate struggle against mother nature...
The Off Roading Adventures is a feature length documentary by Ryan Danekas of him and his friends off roading trips during their senior year of high school. These clips were never intended to be used for anything other than to be random clips, but with every trip they went on, they would encounter more and more problems. With all the situations being recorded, they eventually began to structure a story. By the fourth trip everything lead up to one final disaster. This documentary is a compilation of the clips taken from the final three trips that shows the decent into hell each trip lead these friends into. It follows the torment, pain, and suffering that they had to put up with until all hope for fun was lost and everything hit rock bottom.
The movie has been split into three parts because of its size and length. Part one covers the first two trips and the growing problems. Part two is where even more problems arise on the third trip until everything falls apart. The Third and final part is where everything has gone to hell, and the guys have to figure a way out, all leading up to one last desperate attempt for escape.
Hello everybody. It's been a long and dreadful several months since H&R has released any new content, but the wait is finally over. I'm proud to announce "The Off Roading Adventures".
The first feature length film produced by H&R. It's a documentary focusing on the eventful off roading trips that I was a part of during our senior year of high school. The film has been completed since mid summer, but I've been really busy with my new jobs and stuff so I hadn't had much time to get this on the site. It's too big to put up as one file so I split it into 3 parts.
Podcast #4 should have been up a week ago but there was a freak accident involving the PS3. Matt explains all about it in episode #4.5 which will be up in a few days.
Second Podcast is up. There were some technical problems but it's out now. Episode 003 was recorded today and will be up by Monday or Tuesday. I hope.
Hello again. Recently H&R has been assisting in the production of a new weekly podcast on Virallabs.net. "The Labcast" can be downloaded on Viral Labs, iTunes, and Hit and Run Productions. The Podcast will be released every Monday or Tuesday. Stay tuned for further updates.
It's been a long time since I've made a news post. Well I'm just making this post now to let everyone know, HIt&Run Productions is not dead. I just haven't had any time to produce anything in ahwile. I'll update later if I have anything new to add.
I'm proud to announce the newest Hit&Run Productions short film. Last Saturday some friends and I got to gether and tried to shoot our first action/spoof movie. I got to play around with some new special effects and stuff so it was great.
"Shootout" can be found in the Movies/Other Videos page.
Pre-Production on episode 1.15 is complete. I don't know if it's worth saying that anymore.
Actually, I'm reconsidering my resconsideration to put Something Awesome on hold. It all depends on the availabillity of everyone during the summertime.
Nothing is definate.
I'm trying something a little out of the ordinary for this site. In case you haven't noticed there's a new "Flash Games" page on the Nav Bar. I decided to start adding these to give this site a little more flair. Hit&Run Productions didn't create these games of course, but I figured I might as well add them to see if people like them. This is just an experiment for now, I might not be keeping them, but give them a try.
Hit&Run Productions may be going into some reconstruction soon to prepare for my plan to create a new line of short films. I'm going to look into some ways I can really refresh the look and feel of this site, the main addition being the abbility to post comments under news updates in a similar fashion to the guestbook.
I'll have to take a look and see what I can do first.
Hit&Run Productions as of right now is in a state of paralysis.
If you've been reading these updates then you're aware that Something Awesome has been encountering some huge problems for the last four months. I also mentioned in these updates that I hate not finishing what I start, and that I would complete Something Awesome. The reason that Something Awesome is at a dead stop right now is because of the craziness in all of our schedules. Most of us are seniors in high school preparing to graduate and right now that's what we're all focusing on. Something Awesome is my Senior Project. Senior Projects are required for graduation, and if they werenít, I probably never would have begun to create Something Awesome. I'm on the verge of completing the project. My presentation is in 9 days, and after that, there will be nothing forcing me to continue work on Something Awesome.
I'm trying to say here is that I really have no reason to continue Something Awesome. No one seems to really care about it, or want to see it completed except for a few people. I have single handedly written all of the scripts for the series, and I would love to see the story play out and be completed. It would be painful for me to not create them because I really think that it's a great story that people would eventually love, but right now nobody is exactly on the edge of their seat to see how it concludes. Like I said, I wrote the story, I know how it ends, and the reason I would continue to produce it is to satisfy anyone who actually wanted to see it to the end as much as me. There don't seem to be many people enjoying Something Awesome the way it is now, and to be frank, it would be a pain in the ass to get people excited over it again when most consider it dead.
The point I'm getting to is that Hit&Run Productions has the choice to either reboot Something Awesome and dedicate a lot of time to finishing it, or return to making shorter more individual films (Starting with a sequel to Dokomeudamo that I mentioned over a year ago). Personally I don't think I was ready to attempt a project the size of Something Awesome when I did. I don't think that I had enough experience in creating short films at the time, and when I aimed to create an entire series of films, I was thinking prematurely. That's how I see it now at least.
Unless someone wants to convince me to continue Something Awesome, which would actually require a fresh start because of the recasting, I think the best move for H&R is to return to individual films for now, and gain more experience. Something Awesome wouldn't be completely dead still, although it would be postponed indefinitely. Something Awesome would return someday, but not for awhile. There will always be the scripts waiting to be filmed, but until I'm ready to go forward with it to the end, there needs to be time for Hit&Run Productions to be prepared.
Please go to the guestbook and give me your opinion.
There's been a drastic change in Something Awesome. The characters Ben and Jack are about to have new actors fill the part. Both Josh and Alex are leaving this summer, and I needed to replace them seeing that I will probably not be finishing the series before summer arrives. Josh will at least be reappearing as a guest character for episode 1.05.
This means that updated versions of episode 1.01 and 1.03 will be replacing the current ones soon. Stay tuned for more updates.
Pre-Production on episode 1.13 complete.
I'd like to mention real quick that sometimes when I'm writing a script, I might change the title of the episode from what I originally planned. This doesn't really affect anything, but I wanted to say this so there isn't any confusion with the posted schedule. I will update the schedule whenever I make changes with the episode titles. The schedule you can download is now version 1.1.
There's also been some modifications to the script for episode 1.12. If you've already downloaded that script, then please download the updated version.
I made a tribute video to the popular TV show Battlestar Galactica. I make tribute videos like this a lot to practice my editing skills, but I usually don't upload them. I'll make an exception with this one because I haven't uploaded anything in awhile. It's in the Movies/Other Videos section.
The Video Blog portion of my site has been removed indefinantly. The blog was kind of an experiment in the fisrt place to see if I'd enjoy making them, and nothing ever really clicked. I haven't made one in a long time because of my lack of motivation. This is actually a good thing for the site, because now I have more room for any other kind of project I want to do. I was thinking somewhere along the lines of video reviews of movies and video games, or maybe another project I'm working on.
All right, time for an update.
There hasn't been much word from me in awhile because of how busy I've been. Finding a new job, surviving my last year of High School, and all the extra crap I have to do in my Senior Project. The good thing about waiting awhile for an update is that I'll have more things to talk about.
First off, Something Awesome hasn't had an episode in over a month now. Originally it was planned to start in October and end in March. To make a long story short, it won't be ending in March. It'll take as long as it has to at this point, and I personally hope to have it finished sometime mid-summer. Pre-Production on episode 5 is underway now, and 6 will be as well. 5&6 will most likely be filmed together like 3&4 were, but I havenít decided if I'm going to release them together or not. Episode 5 will hopefully be showing up sometime over the next 2-3 weeks.
Second, the film project I mentioned way back in September about my off roading buddies and itís still going to happen. It defiantly won't happen till summer, but a teaser is being considered to come out before that. I just felt informing everyone that the mysterious film project hasn't disappeared since then.
Third, there are 3 more movies in the works that will be eventually coming to the Movies/Other Films section soon. One is a Photostory style video of the PC, kinda like the Rock for President vid. Another is a sequel to a Pillow Fight vid that i'm actually uploading today. The last is a documentary vid of my latest off roading trip, which turned out to be a total disaster (the trip). You can find the Pillow Fight vid in the movies section soon.
Something Awesome episodes 3 and 4 are now up and available to the public.
Something Awesome episode 3&4 will be released together. Two is better than one right? Anyway untill they come out, I've released a short video I made for school in the Movies/Videos section.
After an unbelivably long delay, Something Awesome episode 102 has arrived and you can find it in Something Awesome page of this site. Now before you watch it I just want to remind everyone, that this is still only the second episode, and we're working out the technical difficulties. By the next couple episodes I hope to eliminate any problems that might be found involving audio or lighting. With that said, the next 2 episodes should be arriving within the next two weeks. Pre-Production is already complete on both episodes, and episode 104 has already been through regular production. Once 103 is as well, then they should both be coming out soon.
Still working on it.
Well the pre-production for episode 1.02 is finished, and you can apease yourself with the title for now (Something Awesome Page). Don't be surprised if this site starts getting flodded with SA episodes soon. We're way behind schedual, but I plan on catching up no matter what.
So much for that update every 2 days thing huh?
Well normally I try not to talk about my personal life on Hit&Run news, but it's probably necessary for me to say that I recently got a job (an actual paying one) and I've been trying to focus my last 2 weeks towards settling into that.
Well now things are returning back to normal for me, and I'm going to have time to see friends and stuff again, so Hit&Run movies will continue.
I apologize for not saying this in the first place, but like I said, I was busy.
Something Awesome is behind schedule at this point, therefore I'm going to be busting my butt to catch up.
Thanks for continuing to support Hit&Run Productions, and look foreword to future updates, hopefully coming sooner than this one.
Nothing specific to update. Something Awesome episode 1.02 is still in Pre-Production and will hopefully be in production later this week.
Also will you PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD sign my Guest Book page? Eventually I'm going to have some kind of community system, but for now the Guest Book is the only thing I have to know when you're visiting my site. Mmm'k?
Something Awesome episode 1.01 is ONLINE!
You'll find it on the Something Awesome page.
Thanks to all my friends who helped make this first episode, and to all of those who are going to watch and continue to support them.
From here untill March, 19 more episodes will be showing.
So check back regularly for updates!
I really hate to do this... But I'm going to have to delay the release of the first episode untill November 2nd.
Well I wasn't going to announce the 10-31-07 release date unless I was sure I could have the episode finished by then. Unfortunantly that's not how things turned out. Anyway, if you can forgive me for this, I'd like to say that the episode will be better to have 2 extra days of post-production instead of being rushed out tonight.
Just 2 days ok?...
Production on Something Awesome Episode 101 is complete. The official release date is...
The official listing of episodes has begun in the "Something Awesome" page, and it will be updating as progress on the webseries contintues.
Video blog 5 is up.
Tommarow should be the last day of filming for Something Awesome episode 1, and if all goes well, then the official release date should be announced.
Something Awesome is in the middle of production. I'm still not ready reveal my planned 'official' release date, but I can say that it's coming soon for sure. I'll most likely reveal the release date when the film process is 100% complete and all that is required is editing. The final stages of film are schedualed for this Friday, so expect to see the next update then.
The Something Awesome page will be recieving a change of appearance pretty soon as well.
Today I added a video of some random stuff that my friends and I made. You can find it in the Movies/Other Videos section. Also, I uploaded a McDonalds Prank video yesterday, so if you didn't read yesterday's news, that's also in the Videos section.
Nothing new to say about Something Awesome, but if you saw the new video blog I uploaded yesterday, you might have seen a little problem I had with the project in general.
So anyaway, I made this news update to say that the McDonalds Prank video is officially up. Check it out in the Movies/Video's section.
Pre-Production for "Something Awesome" episode 001 is officially complete. Production is schedualed to begin this friday, and hopefully the finished product will be up by the end of this month. Well, I actually have a planned date to realease the Pilot, but I want to make sure I get the whole project Ok'd by my teachers before I make any promises. Once Porduction is complete and I begin Post-Production, I'll 'release' the officiall 'release' date for the actual episode. I'll be changing the "Something Awesome" webpage soon to prepare it for listing the twenty episodes.
In other video news, the McDonalds prank video that I hinted in my last post is still being planned for release, I've just been really focused on Something Awesome, and I haven't had much time to edit it. Expect that to be released later this week.
One more thing I'd like to mention related to my movies and videos. I currently have a Mocumentary planned to shoot some time this fall/winter. I don't want to say much about it because the idea just came up a few days ago, but my friends and I who I talked about it with want to film it. Basically I'm just saying that there might be a new movie project along with my web-series that I'll be updating, but for now we haven't even planned pre-productinon, so I'll be updating this later.
Keep coming back for regular updates! Hit&Run Productions is starting to lift off.
I've been working a lot recently for a bunch of different crap. I'm trying to squeeze in time to add more videos to my site, but like I said, I've been busy. I should be posting a fresh new video in the videos/movies section soon to show a little prank on McDonalds a friend of mine and I did.
Sorry for not uploading that blog like I said I would, but I had a really busy day today. Iím actually going to have a pretty busy weekend in general so Iíll try to get it up tomorrow, but I donít want to make any promises.
I've added a guest book page, so please take a few seconds to sign it and let me know when someone has visited my site.
In other news, preparations for Something Awesome is still underway, and the script to the Pilot episode is nearing completion.
I was originally going to post my video blog of the Halo 3 launch, but something else came up this night which was featured in my blog. Check it out in the Video Blogs section. I will also be making the Halo 3 blog tommarow.
I uploaded another video I made a couple months ago. You can find it on the Movies/Other Videos page.
